Mode Four Attitude, stunning good looks and an incredible 350 Watts of brutal yet toneful power set the MODE FOUR apart from all other amps. Add to this an arsenal of great sounds, a slew of professional features plus groundbreaking, state-of-the-art hybrid technology and you have a Marshall like no other.
The first ever Marshall, the legendary JTM45, was born in 1962 as a result of the Guv'nor, Jim Marshall, listening to what guitar players wanted. Forty years later, the song remains the same and that's how the MODE FOUR came to be. Modern guitarists told us they wanted an amp capable of more gain, more low-end and more headroom than ever before . . . plus great cleans and, of course, the crunch tones that have made Marshall a legend! We listened and reacted - the result is the MODE FOUR
AVT Marshalls long history and experience in the field of valve amplification was utilised in the development of the new AVT power amp. This extremely responsive and warm sounding circuitry was then coupled with the specially voiced, ECC83 (a.k.a 12AX7) valve driven pre-amp section, to provide 100% valve / analogue warmth from input to output. Combined with numerous user friendly features, they believe they've created the best value-for-money range of Marshall amplifiers ever!
JCM 2000 Triple Super Lead (TSL) When launched in the late 90s, the world's guitar press unanimously hailed it as 'the best Marshall ever.' As a result of this the pressure was truly on when they introduced the next two members of the JCM2000 family, the 100 Watt, Triple Super Lead (TSL) twins: the TSL100 head and TSL122 2x12" combo.
How did the critics react? "It does everything my old Marshalls do and more . . . the TSL is far more versatile than any other valve Marshall out there, and offers many ways to 'tweak' your tone. The TSL100 has taken the lead as the best sounding Marshall amp available today. Marshall's sound engineers have outdone themselves this time. It'll be tough for them to top this one," is how 'GUITAR SHOP' magazine put it.
We're delighted to report that this rave review was the global norm.
JCM 2000 Dual Super Lead (DSL) The formidable family of JCM2000 valve amps was born when we launched the DSL100 and DSL50 heads to an unprecedented wave of critical and public acclaim in the late '90s. With each subsequent JCM2000 product introduction, glowing accolades continued. The most recent additions to the line came when we unleashed the babies of the family - the EL84 powered DSL201 and DSL401 combos. Once again, the reception they received was overwhelmingly positive and their inclusion in the line made the JCM2000 Series the most comprehensive range of valve amplifiers in the illustrious, 40 year history of Marshall.
Vintage Series The Marshall re-issue range consists of the 100 Watt JCM800 2203, 100 Watt 1959SLP head, the 50 Watt 1987X head, the 2245 (JTM45) head and 1962 'Bluesbreaker' combo. All are faithful reproductions of the originals, which shaped the sound of the electric guitar as we know it.
The main characteristic that these amps share is their simplicity of operation and superb natural valve tone. Achieving the beautifully organic and vibrant overdrive which is their trademark, can only be done in one way - crank 'em up! The result is pure, majestic tone uncluttered by unnecessary circuitry. With solos this produces a big, round, warm, sustain, full of classic character. With chord work you get a bark and percussive attack with a natural sounding break up, which allows each note to ring out in a glorious musical crunch.
