About Us Richards Guitars
Same building - same owner - same ethos (as Regent Guitars which I closed in May 2008). One BIG difference. I am now able to focus purely on products I am passionate about and handle the enquiry and all stages personally. This is something I always wanted to achieve at Regent Guitars but was impossible due to the mass volume involved.
My experiences are the PROOF that volume sales CANNOT equal personal service - however hard you try!
My reputation goes before me for professional and personal advice and you can be guaranteed that the products I choose to support at this site are not only worth a look but excel within the genre that they represent.
Every guitar sold in store is set up by "Regent Guitar Tech" to our normal meticulous standard and includes a certificate highlighting all work carried out. Any guitar purchased at Richards Guitars can be returned at 6 and 12 months for a check up and adjustment.
Regent Guitar Tech
My former technician at Regent Guitars now runs his own private workshop within the same premises at 2 Regent Street. Responsible for thousands of Regent Guitars customers setups, Chaz is always available for setups and repairs.

Making A Purchase A purchase can be made by phone, in store or online (All card details are securely encrypted using Industry leading catalogue software - Actinic). We take all known cards but cannot accept ELECTRON online (only in store). |
Shipping And Handling Delivery is £15. We use ParcelForce next day delivery service.
Every instrument is set up to the highest of standards. If you have a personal requirement please let us know as we specialise in ensuring our customers needs are always met - whatever guage of string, action or playing style. A certificate of completion shows you the work carried out, final string height at the 12 fret and guage of string.
Every guitar is personally inspected, wrapped and packed by myself (Richard). I am the last person to see your guitar before it arrives with you and can give you a personal assurance that your guitar will be perfect. By packing your guitar personally I can ensure the instrument will be fully protected during its journey.
I tend not to dispatch on Fridays to avoid cold storage in the depot over the weekend. Dispatch days tend to be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.

Delivery Schedule Due to increased demand for our specialised service we are now delivering to Western Europe as well as the UK.
UK deliveries are next day. Western European deliveries tend to be 2-3 days. Please also allow for the hand finishing process (we call this premier service) which can add a couple of days.
Please note that the safety and playability of your instrument on arrival is our key concern when you order online. |
Back Orders In the event of a guitar being out of stock in our warehouse, we will contact the UK supplier. If it is available we will order it immediately on your behalf adding an extra 2-3 days to the order time.
If the product is out of stock with our supplier too, we will inform you of this fact. At this stage you may decide to cancel your order or wait for it.
I will personally keep you updated, generally calling you in person but if I cannot get hold of you I will use email. |
Tax Charges
For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 15% VAT is added. All other orders are VAT free and you should click the exempt button to reduce VAT to zero . |
Credit Card Security All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site. |
Guarantee All items are fully gauranteed for 12 months from purchase date. Any guitar sold will be set up before sale and we will gaurantee the playability of the instrument for 12 months.
All instruments can be returned for a 6 and 12 month check/reset FREE. Please note that in order to check the intonation we will have to fit new strings if they have not been fitted prior to the check which will be charged for.
We do not accept responsibility in the case of guitars being mis-treated or adjusted by the owner of the instrument.
If you are not entirely satisfied with a delivered product, please notify us immediately and we will arrange to collect for a replacement or refund.
Personally, I do not want anyone keeping an instrument that they are not happy with.

Saturdays
Whilst I try and keep as close to a 10am-6pm working week in store Monday to Friday, you can be assured that Saturdays are always "shop days". So if you don't fancy an appointment or want to remain a little more incognito then maybe Saturday would be your safest day to visit. However, PLEASE never feel afraid to call me and appointments DO NOT commit you to anything at all. I am as much into pressure sales as Gordon Brown is to slapstick humour! Honest! | Best Selling ItemsCort M 520 TAB £332.96 (Euros343.37) The M520 doesn't just represent awesome value for money and tonal diversity (Both humbuckers are coil tapped for expanded tonal options) but the guitar has a genuine vintage/classic vibe with flawless finishing.
The better news is that this is just one of a whole line up of superb fixed neck guitars which have a remotely PRS/Gibson twin cutaway feel about them.
The range starts from just under £200 online, alll the way up to the M900 with acoustic capabilities thanks to the Fishman Power Bridge!
I couldn't recommend this range highly enough for anyone wanting a classic rock/blues tone.
find out more | | Cort Z 42 WR £224.95 (Euros231.98) What can I say about the Z42 that hasn't already been summarised by Guitarist magazine when they gave this guitar a 5 star rave review. Now I am the first to criticise magazines for focusing reviews on their advertising partners but when someone like Cort gets a 5 star review you know the product must be EXCELLENT.
Weighing in at just a smidge over £200 online this is not just a starter guitar, its an instrument that will perform on stage without any problem at all. The Z42 is the opening guitar in a range of awesome Les Paul alternatives! The Z series provides a more modern twist with improved neck access, coil taps and some stunning finishes.
Seymour Duncan pickups are found on the models higher up in the range but check out the Z44 models too - they are incredible value at around the £350 mark.
All in all another awesome range which cannot fail to impress if you take them for a test drive at our showroom in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire
find out more | | Cort G 260 OPN £341.95 (Euros352.64) The G260 OPN is a mighty fine alternative to the stock Fender Standard Stratocaster that so many players opt for every day. Why would they do this when Cort provide a super strat design, coil tapped with an ash body in this awesome finish? The power of the F word is an amazing thing!
For those who want greater tonal options than a Fender Strat (or even the super strat which is not coil tapped) and want a better quality trem system with a tonaly superior tone wood, the G260 could be for you.
The G series starts from a mere £139 so ideal for the first time player.
Another model you shouldn't ignore if this is the kind of instrument you are looking for is the G280 again with ash body but now loaded with a set of Seymour Duncan Pickups. It is gorgeous! find out more | | Cort EARTH 200 3TS £305.96 (Euros315.52) A standard setter for over a decade! The Earth 200 is has a very special place in my heart as it was the acoustic guitar that put Tanglewood on the map when Cort made all the Tanglewood guitars. Cort continue to produce the Eath 200 under their own brand simply because it is one of the finest acoustic guitars I have ever seen at this price. Did I say one of? There is nothing that compares at the price.
find out more | | Cort GB 74 OPN £476.95 (Euros491.85) The GB 74 is a classic example of Cort production at its best. Cort have an incredibly strong reputation in bass production and are responsible for producing some of the highest range Ibanez basses such as the Prestige SR bass guitars.
The GB, Action. Curbow and Artisan series are all incredibly strong and you need to have a browse through them all to find a guitar that suits you. Click on the link below to get more information on this bass and to find other recommendations.
find out more | | Cort SFX 5 LVB £386.95 (Euros399.04) The SFX series are simply first class electros. I believe Cort own Fishman and therefore all Cort electros come equipped with the very latest Fishman electronics.
For years I have been describing these guitars as the "APX Beater". Many years ago the Yamaha APX became an industry standard electro acoustic but when The SFX came onto the scene maybe 6 or so years ago I never looked back - and nor did my customers. The strength in the SFX seems to be in its slightly arched back which helps improve the acoustic projection of this slimline performance electro.
Cort produced acoustics have always been my top recommendation - for 14 years in fact! The SFX is the most popular electro format due to its smaller, comfortable size, attractive design and impressive acoustic and electro tonality.
