this amp is best suited to me perfectly.

a one channel amp with footswitchable gain stages.

the controls are resonance, presence, bass, mids, treble, master volume and presence gain and the footswitchable Drive channel.

this amp is as versatile as you want it to be, however, if you need to cover a very wide section then it struggles. tbh if you are using the Drive channel then you can set your gain for 5 and push the drive channel to the maximum, if you need a clean setting switch to the middle / neck pickup, roll of volume to about 6 and it cleans up beautifully.

my setting are all on 6, treble on 8, master volume situation dictated and drive on 8. this amp does sound like your average jcm 800 / 900, but laney if you get what i mean.

i love this amp big time, its given me a excellent alternative to my ashdown fallen angel 60. i will give you a more indepth review if you want it, but i will do this on a one-to-one basis.

this amp also has the capability to swap power tubes from EL34's to 5881's by a simple flick of a switch, biasing done for you. it also has a slave facility which means you can run up to 7 (laney specifications) seperate heads in series. i dont know the benefits of this but im sure someone like paul gilbert (or smarties) knows the answer.

i play mainly emotional-metal. alexisonfire, scary kids scaring kids, everytime i die, circa survive and for me this amp does everything i need and want so i cant complain.

if the amp was to be lost or stolen i would probably buy the V100 from laney to play with the extra features, but only for that reason.

excellent amp, a good choice if you need the gain but don't want to completly get rid of the string clarity.
