maybe.

I guess the left hand stuff comes more naturally to me that the right. I just remember watching a video of Zakk Wylde (not my usual taste, but interesting..)- his left hand was basically just doing quick runs- anuyone could learn it with time, but the amount of control in his picking was phenomenal...

I do know that Knopfler's left handed but plays right handed. As a consequence he's able to do the most amazing string bends (entire chords) as his left (strong hand) is fretting.

But to me, that says it all...

Anyone could learn it, given time. Surely that would apply whether you were right-handed playing a right-handed guitar; left-handed playing left-handed; RH playing LH; or LH playing RH.

Given time, any of us could learn to play any instrument, any way round. So why do left-handed guitarists make such a fuss

unless someone has a different take on it?

Mmm

I tend to think of picking as being the easier bit... I also think that if you look at finger-picking and classical styles, it is the fretting hand that is being asked to do far more work in terms of spatial positioning and sheer finger strength...

Yeah, I'd agree with this. My style (if indeed I have one..!) is pretty much determined by the little nuances of my fretting hand - definitely. For me, I think the real skill is in my right hand.

No jokes please......

I just think it's great that my auntie was considered "defective" for being LH! How cool is that!?!
