It sort of makes sense... but my point is that a right-handed guitar is actually better suited to a naturally left-handed player. It is your left-hand that is doing ALL the clever stuff.
Which is what I meant when I said that a right-hander is actually at a disadvantage when playing a right-handed guitar. They have to learn to start making their left hand do a lot more work than they are used to.
The point about balance doesn't enter into it. If you wear it with the neck sticking out to the left of your body, that is.
I think the real point I'm trying to make is that a "right-handed" guitar is actually BETTER suited to a left-handed player.
And before anyone says, well in that case, why didn't you learn to play a left-handed guitar seeing as you're right-handed, I go back to my statement about there not being left-handed pianos. It makes sense to me to simply learn an instrument the way it was designed. After all, none of us are born knowing how to play. We learn with what we're given.
Please realise that this is in no way at all a dig at left-handed, right-handed or ambidextrous folk. It's a genuine question and observation.
Paul.

I've always thought tho, playing right handed, that the actual difficult bit comes with the picking hand... unless someone has a different take on it? Mmm
I tend to think of picking as being the easier bit... I also think that if you look at finger-picking and classical styles, it is the fretting hand that is being asked to do far more work in terms of spatial positioning and sheer finger strength...
