Hi all,

Hope this hasn't been dealt with before. Apologies if it has and I've missed it. I have a sonic blue Classic Player 60's Strat and I always give it a wipe down after playing. But, the area where my arm rests on the shoulder of the guitar is kind of hazing. It doesn't come up with the shine that the rest of the body has. I don't want to use the wrong thing on it. So far I've only tried a silicone-free beeswax polish (lightly) with a microfibre cloth and it hasn't made much difference.

Any advice gratefully received!

Try Planet Waves Restore. I believe this has a mild abrasive, and acts like T-cut to bring the colour and lustre back out. I haven't actually used this, as none of my guitars have quite reached this stage yet, but a friend of mine swears by this. Alternatively, there's Meguiar's Swirl and Haze Remover, which I believe only comes as part of the Fender Instrument Care Kit, although I might be wrong on this. Good luck.

Thanks for the tips. In the meantime though, I used some lighter fluid sparingly applied, followed by a damp cloth and a buff. Worked perfectly!
