Well in celebration of knowing 8 chords and being able to do the intro to 2 tunes to the point that they are almost recognisable!! I've just bought another guitar off e-bay to go with my previous buy of a Fenandes Monterey. I seriously need to stop looking at guitars I'm so weak :o) Anyway here it is http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280452782944&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Paid £700ish for it seems like an ok price to me, but what do I know! anyway its paid for now. Right what's next!!
guitar arrived today and WOW!!! It is absolutely immaculate I cannot find any marks at all plastic still on pickguard as well. Even as a beginner I noticed a difference straight away, the action is low much lower than my Fernandes Monterey (now lowered) and what a difference that makes. Neck feels really good, I've sat and read many people talking about necks and thought to myself surely it can't make that much difference but I've now experienced the difference. Still very much like my Fernandes though, even more so now I've lowered the action. In my totally un scientific beginners testing I've noticed there is quiet a difference in the sound the Fernandes appears to have considerably more sustain to it. All in all I’m very happy with it.

Yes, small things like that really do make a huge difference to the feel of a guitar- the cross section of the neck (depth, width and the shape of the curve across the back) can change things dramatically, as can the size and shape of the frets- I know that I was blown away by my G&L when I got it too- I'd been used to playing "vintage" styled Fenders with small necks and small frets, whereas the G&L had a slightly chunkier neck and much bigger frets, which make playing a good deal easier.
Glad you like it- hope you get more mileage from it than the previous owner!

Well I've eventually got round to taking some photos of my latest toy so I thought you might like to see them.

I have always wanted a G&L Bluesboy, which is a Telecaster with a Seymour Duncan humbucker at the neck. Not even been able to try one yet. I'm gonna keep looking.
