Very frustrated. Recorded some stuff and saved as WAV file. Trying to convert it to MP3 to post on various websites but can't find anything in my music software to do it. Itunes help says you can but I can only figure it out when importing from a CD - not from a file on my hard drive. Can't suss it from Windows media player, sonic record now, Ashampoo burning studio, realplayer, all of which are on my PC. Tried downloading a so-called free converter whcih then only converts part of the file unless you pay them some spondoolies. Can anyone suggest how i can do it with any of the software I already have or recommend a simple free-to download program that isn;t on a 30 day trial or want money later? Cheers

Audacity is what I use- free multitrack recording/editting.

And you can export anything as an mp3 with 2 clicks. \:\)

There are various converters based on the open source LAME engine, some of which are free.

Thanks guys. The Itunes solution worked. I wonder why it doesn't tell me that in the help section. It tells me to go to edit-preferences-advanced then there should be tabs with MP3 options. Nope there ain't on mine. Anyway it's sorted now. cheers
