Thanks Dave. It was all those pretty lights man; far out but really confusing.
Actually the fictional 1984 wasn't that different from reality. One was about the time we had a tyrannical leader oppressing the rights of citizens, pursuing wars in a frenzy of patriotism to divert people's attention away from the dull meaningless drudgery of their pitiful existence, and the other was a film.
I fully expect 2012 to be exactly as predicted. I can't wait to see that stadium that goes round and round and then all the seats float down and it gets built in minutes - that's going to be amazing.
Today's suggestion for a must-see film is Lawrence of Arabia. David Lean's direction, some first-rate acting from Peter O'Toole and a terrific story are an effective combination. That scene when Omar Sharif appears out of the heat haze is a classic.
