Hi,

I'm in the market for a new electro acoustic with around £1500.00 to spend but can't make up my mind what to buy.

I've had a a look at most brands including Gibson, Taylor and Martin and Martin stood out but I want to make sure I get this one right.

I mostly play acoustic but want to do a few local gigs. I play a bit of everything from Radiohead to James Taylor to generic modern pop so the guitar needs to be versatile.

Any advise is welcome and appreciated!
Dan

Hi and welcome! (so many new faces on here recently!)

For that kind of money you might be better to get a regular acoustic and get a pickup system.

I'm not very well versed in high end acoustics, but I am aware that this is the method most pros use live. The LR Baggs M1 system seems very popular at the moment

If you get the chance, try some Stonebridge guitars out. A friend of mine just ended a loooong search for an acoustic guitar with a Stonebridge- he'd tried Martins, Gibsons etc.

Richard will bang on about them for hours given half a chance, but I have to say that the one my friend bought was head and shoulders above anything else I heard him play (and you could get two of them for your budget )
