^ Sticky's was my favourite too, but I reckon these jams ought to be a chance to get some inspiration from each other- steal some licks, maybe find our way out of the ruts we play in, spur each other on to improve, however good or bad we are (or think we are- two different things!) to start with...

What I loved about Sticky's part was that it was really simple, but the choice of effects made it sound really special- I've said it before and I'll say it again, being a musician is only partly about technique and theory and a lot about imagination.

Bring on round 4!!

aw, thanks guys- i loved all of it!

And i must admit, I probably spent more time tweaking that compression+delay sound than i did playing it!

in total my rig runs

Guitar -> Ernie Ball Volume Pedal -> BYOC Comp -> Rat -> Crowther Hot Cake -> MXR Micro Amp ->Eventide Timefactor -> Guyatone MD3 delay -> amp (which in this case is a POD2 on what I think was the Marshall 18Watt-style model)

That slide sound was my Gibson 336 with the compression set really high into both delays- the guyatone set for a little slapback and the Timefactor on an tape delay with 3 repeats and almost 50/50 wet/dry mix.

Then using a slide and volume pedal to control the swells \:\)

is that the 5-knob BYOC comp, or the opto-comp? I have the 5-knob comp on my board, and I really like it.

Well, as much as you can really have strong feelings about a compressor pedal, anyway...

It's a 3 knob- about 4 years old now. Built to Dynacomp specs, but with an added attack control. (i think!). I only really use it for slide/gilmour-type sustain with the comp wound really high.

Ah, alright. I was always planning to get a BYOC comp, even before they revamped it, but I don't think I'd like mine so much without the dry blend and the tone control.

By the way, the Behringer reverb arrived, and it's very decent. Full on review to come shortly...
