I have a dozen or so very good blues backing tracks of all varieties which I acquired from somewhere or other. If you like I'll post links to two or three possibles tonight (I'm in the orifice at the moment).
I'd be happy to take on the mixing and mastering duties this time around if folks want.

John

Knocked THIS up this morning

Thought it satisfied suggested criteria.

Also happy to mix or if you like the backing pass the files to John for him to do.

Well I like it. Very Floyd-y.

Nice going, mister Gnarly.

Basically, someone (TBC) will provide a backing track for you to play along with. You'll need some sort of recording device to record your solo, then you'll need to convert it to mp3 and e-mail it to whoever's on mixing and mastering duties (also TBC). They'll produce a final track with all the contributors' solos and post it on the forum for our listening pleasure.

If you don't already have a software recording gadget, I recommend Audacity- it's free to download and easy to find with a google search.

Sounds awesome! I don't have the kit for it right now, but in the near future, if this this is done again I would love to take part!

Thanks for explaining it to me bob ;\)

FWIW, for tracking guitars I've been using a POD Studio, which can be had for under £100, sounds really good and is dead easy to use.

There's a couple of threads in this forum with the end results of the last two forum jams if you want to have a listen to the sort of things we've done so far...
