Yep that would do more than nicely, if fact I may have certain dreams about that \:\/

But I cant afford that, are g4s any good for this sort of thing? I may be able to get hold of one of them cheap?

Better than nothing, I've got an old powerbook G4 that I use now and again, but it's slowly dying. A desktop machine would be more cost effective to keep running.

when i manage to pull my finger out! I'll be using a SM58 or 57 (or both) through my mixer which can be plugged into my PC! Alternativly i will record directly to my GNX3 and trandfer it over that way.... IF i can find a smart media card that doesn't cost the earth!

For thoes recording with a cheapo mic, Would it be possible to record through somthing like an SM57 to PC by using XLR - 1/4 Jack and then using a 1/4 Jack to 1/8 Jack convertor?

^ theoretically, you should be able to do that- I was in a band a few years back with a bass player who used to record our rehearsals with a '58 plugged in to a minidisc player. They sounded pretty good considering he was basically using it as a room mic, and I imagine he'd have got pretty good results if he'd been properly mic'ing a cab.

Amazon is probably the best place to look for media cards- I just bought a micro SD card from them for less than half the "special offer" prices they were going for in all the local mobile phone places...
