I normally find strats a bit bland looking, probably because the shape is so widely copied, but I really like the purple. It looks very cool.

I think my first riff was Iron man by Black Sabbath, once I learnt power chords there was no stoping me (Insert facepalm here) The first song I learnt was either Bartender and the Thief by The Stereophonics or Crazy little thing called love by Queen. The first solo I learnt was from the back pages of an old guitar magazine and was Bohemain Rhapsody, I must have played those like a gazillion times over the years.

Smoke on the Water is a good first riff to learn because it's so simple, yet so satisfying to play in front of the mirror.
...while standing on your bed, in your case
Most people start by learning chords- if you can find a chord chart for a song you like on the internet (just google "<song title> chords" and you'll turn up most stuff), and get yourself a chord book from The Works or wherever, you should have all the tools you need to get started- you just need motivation to keep going (and your guitar, of course). If you'd prefer something a little more structured, most music shops will have a selection of "teach yourself guitar" books, although the songs they'll teach you will probably be rather tame compared to what you like to listen to.
Unfortunately, the less mainstream your tastes (and yours would seem to be distinctly NOT mainstream), the harder it's likely to be to find good quality transcriptions of the more complicated parts of songs, so you may have to steer clear of those until you develop your "ear" enough to be able to work out roughly what's going on- it's not always as hard as it sounds, and it's an invaluable skill to have, so you'll have an incentive to learn
You could always try to find a guitar teacher, but feel free to shop around until you find one who will teach you what you want to learn.
