That is one lovely looking guitar Sticky. I'm thinking of a Les Paul myself, but lacking the brass in pocket. How does the Burny compare to the real thing - or come to that a Tokai, Epi or Vintage?

Nice.

I donl't have much experience of Tokais, but it's far better in playability and finishing than any Epi or Vintage I've ever tried. Its not as good as the recent Gibsons I have played, nor the 2002-spec Standard I almost bought in 2005. But where the economy is these days you can barely even get a used Gibson for under £1500. I suppose it depends on how much you are a stickler for details. The top bout of the Burny is a *slightly* different shape from the original, the finish is poly rather than nitro, the binding doesn't cover the fret ends etc, but at this price you'll never get those details.

I still plan to get a real one some day, probably an R7, but to say this was merely adequate would be doing it a great disservice- it plays well, looks great and the bridge pickup roars \:\) Neck is a little muddy with gain but is fairly sweet played clean. It certainly nails the live Led Zep tone if given a little fuzz to beef it up.

And the headstock is a much better copy of the Gibson style than modern tokais and epiphones ;\)
