lol Is that the smallest picture he could get.
I think with amps in the price range you will be looking at you wont have to match the amp to the guitar. Whats the most amount you can spend on it?

nt sure til I get paid next week, £200-300 prob max I can afford at the mo, preferable less, nt sure if it will be enough, can wait a little and save some more if I have to, but rather start learning as soon as possible really. any hint's what I would need to spend or what to get. I'm never gonna gig with it just want something to learn and practice on that's going to have a reasonably good sound quality, and which will give me something to play with.

is that the actual guitar?
200-300 on an amp is enough to get a good second hand valve amps for your level, im not too good on new amps, personaly I would go for a Blues Junior but im bias to blues valve amps, someone will be able to give better advice on this one.
As far as learning goes, all you need is the guitar, not the guitar and amp. I find myself more and more, and more often just picking up the guitar without pluggin it in and playing. Thats the best way to work out stuff

I agree Dev, I do that too (on occasion).
Its also worth adding that when learning guitar that it is better to learn with CLEAN tones so you can hear where you're going wrong.
