Hi Everybody.im here on behalf of my Dad really, hes a bit of a technophobe and was asking me if i could find some info for him.i know very little about guitars but i have a pc.He is a collector of guitars and a player of many years.he has seen a gibson acoustic locally that he really wants but will have to sell some of his other guitars to fund the purchase.one of the guitars is a Patrick Eggle Berlin pro (prized posession).it has 2 single coil pickups, one humbucking(what does this all mean??lol),these are made by seymour duncan.body is flame maple sunburst with an ebony fingerboard.guitar is in excellent condition, very, very well looked after and i think he has the case too.the question is...how much should he be asking for this guitar??..he bought it some time ago and is unsure of its value...any info would be very welcome....thanks in advance.....paul

Hi Paul. Your best bet is Ebay for checking prices.

They tend to go on Ebay between £500-800, depending on condition and scarcity. I imagine an early one may be worth more. Can you get any more details?

Do you know when it was made? Could you post some pictures?

He has made an attempt at listing them on Ebay and judging by the amount of watchers he has im guessing hes not far off with his asking prices.the Eggle was made in 97 and listed on Ebay item number 150419709870
the 12 string Takamine is on item number 150419781009

That's a lovely looking guitar. Should be worth what it's up for. It might take a couple of goes listing it, but I wouldn't want to let it go for much less, personally.

As an aside- whereabouts are you/your dad in Brixham? My in-laws live down there. Lovely bit of the world \:\)

My tech Phil has an early Eggle Berlin Pro in mint condition which he would not let go for less than 1k

I remember when these Eggles came out they largely considered to be on a level with Paul Reed Smith. I think the value is probably £1000ish but getting that might be problem.

ive just put down the phone to him.hes starting to get a few calls now, particularly from abroad.the guitar serial number is 7225 if that means anything to anyone.he describes the guitar as pristine and hardly played.i know for a fact hes spent way more time looking at it rather than playing it
