By 'high E-string' do you mean the highest elevated string(thickest), or the highest pitched sring(thinnest) on your guitar?
If its the thinnest, somethings very wrong assuming that '4D' indicates the 4th string. If it just means D however, you're only 2 semitones away from a high E.
Play the 5th fret on your B string, thats the pitch you're aiming for with the high E.
If you mean the thickest string, you've gone too far! If thats reading correctly, then it'll be higher pitched than your A string. Go back down.
