Seeing the Journey album made me remember another old album I love, especially once sufficiently relaxed i.e. intoxicated, and put it on. Had the pleasure of seeing him live in a very small hall in Shepparton, Victoria, Australia when traveling in the early 90's. Voice like a foghorn.

Listening to an old favourite that I have on vinyl somewhere and it's crap.
The original was a great collection of early rock 'n' roll, doo-wop and teen ballads and this CD version is padded out with crooners, novelty records and extraneous nonsense. I've been waiting for years for this to be re-released on CD and it's a big disappointment. Why they couldn't have just replicated the old LP is beyond me. It's been put together by someone who clearly doesn't know the music or the movie but who can get a job lot of royalty-free tracks that are from the same era.

^ Awesome. I did a Beatles marathon a while back- all their albums back-to-back. Quite an interesting experience. Amazing to hear how much they progressed as songwriters and musicians in such a short time and how some of their ideas developed over time.

Who?! I was listening to Sgt. Pepper again the other day. Unbeatable. I wish I'd been there when it came out; unfortunately, I was born 4 months after its release.

For some reason the image of That'll Be The Day disappeared from my post above which rendered it more meaningless than usual.
Let's hope the follwing one of Los Lobos's compilation Just Another Band From East LA sticks around. I haven't played this or any of Los Lobos for a while so it's almost like re-discovering them. Great musicianship and an eclectic choice of material including a blistering version of the Dead's Bertha and I wanna Be Like You from Disney's Jungle Book. Crazy but it works.
