I have just rediscovered this. One of my favourite albums of all time. A cynical look at the record industry of the late 60s / early 70s.

Just been listening to Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits after a couple of glasses of wine.... cool...

Must get the Alchemy Live Album out one day - pure heaven.

I think this album has already made an appearance in this thread. Extreme feel the pressure from the grunge/alt-rock backlash against everything with meedly-meedly Guitars and anything-more-than-competent singers on it and turn this in to their record company, to no avail. Rough around the edges, with a live-sounding drum sound that reminds me of later Led Zeppelin and some interesting forays in to effects from Nuno, who is also a bad mother hubbard on the guitar. You can hear the bass too, which is an improvement on "Pornograffitti"

Wow! Robben Ford and Extreme - I must be having some kind of teenage throwback thing going on tonight - listening to Dire Straits, then Queen (Freddie was on of my Idols along with Michael Jackson - is that wierd?), now reading about your love of Robben Ford (my hero) and good old Extreme - I was inspired by Pornograffiti which came out just before the Espania 95 live thingy bob when all the top players ofthe time played live on stage in Seville (Joe Satriani, Steve Vai etc.) and was gutted when Nuno played "more than words" acoustic set?!! What?!!!

Anyway - nice to see Robben and Nuno featuring in this thread.
