Hi all,

This is my first post, so here goes!

I am looking to purchase a new Dunlop Wah pedal, and have so far honed down my choices to the following three:
- DB-01 Dimebag Signature Crybaby
- Crybaby 535Q
- ZW-45 Zakk Wylde Signature Wah

I’m swaying towards the DB-01 as it seem to get pretty good reviews everywhere I have looked, but would love to hear if anyone disagrees, and why.

Thanks.

J

It shouldn't be too difficult to track down examples of all three and try them out to see which sounds best to YOU.

I'd be wary of customer reviews for anything related to Zakk or Dime- they seem to me like the sort of products that attract inexperienced young players who want something with their hero's name on it. Can you trust a review from someone who's only actually used one wah-wah pedal in their life?

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your reply. Yes you’re right, trying them all out would be best, but unfortunately I don’t have easy access to a guitar shop so it makes things a little tricky (expense of getting to one). I have seen many videos on-line of demos (YouTube, Google etc), but thought it would also be worth asking here.

Fair point too about the endorsements – I have always tried to steer clear of this kind of thing as I feel it favours the artist and manufacturer over the end buyer.

Oh well, I shall see if I can get my hands on one to try out.

Cheers,
Jamie

It might be an odd question but have you ever used one before? If not buying 'blind' could be counter productive.

Other things to consider are your guitar and the pickups, amps other effects etc etc.
