Critically acclaimed vocalist Najma Akhtar and Gary Lucas - voted one of Rolling Stone's 'Greatest Guitarists of All-TIme' - team up to perform songs from their album "Rishte" at The Tin Angel on Spon Street in Coventry.

Gary Lucas may play as part of a band called Gods and Monsters, but some of his best known work has been through collaborating with angels - to many, he is known for co-writing two tracks of Jeff Buckley’s classic 1994 album "Grace" ('Mojo Pin' and the album's title track) and his guitar work for Captain Beefheart. Lucas’ collaboration with renowned vocalist Najma Akhtar, whose seven solo recordings have fused jazz and Indian Ghazals to startling effect, came from Lucas’ admiration of Akhtar’s second solo record, "Atish", and her performance with Robert Plant and Jimmy Page on ‘Battle of the Evermore’ on their famous MTV Unplugged appearance. In creating "Rishte", they have created something that not only breaks new ground sonically, but spans geographical and cultural divides through the universal language of music.
