I have never sold a guitar on Ebay, and I would hesitate to buy a guitar (or anything) there, but the most shaking-of-the-head I have done was due to seeing early 80s 2-pot Strats described as "Dan Smith". I believe that practice has been dealt with. Or does someone else know better?

I have bought and sold a fair few guitar on Ebay, but I always do it on my terms- Cash/collection if at all possible, never post anything uninsured- especially abroad!

The best thing is when you put something up with clear indications of any changes and you get people just being rude- I had an SG with Hiscox and graphite saddles and had a chap offer me a ridiculous lowball figure because I had 'devalued' the instrument. I told him to shove it and got the full asking price a couple of days later..

I've bought a couple of cheapies on Ebay just to try out different styles really. A Vintage V99 and an Ibanez. It didn't cost me much & I sold the Ibanez on after 6 months for no loss & used the same box it came in to post it. It's a small risk if you scrutinise the seller carefully. For something more expensive I'd stick to cash on collection.
