I hope English Bob doesn't mind but I wondered if the levels could have been a bit higher on the final mix of the jam so I tried a 'hotter' one using FinalPlug: FJamHot

It seemed like a good idea some time ago to do a "quick" knockup of this before bed ...

Scroll down and click on the songsheet to listen. I've put it on my website so it doesn't disappear like the previous jams on random hosting sites.

Not at all. I'm new to the whole home studio business, so all I did was put everything together, tweak levels so that everything was roughly equal in volume and converted the cubase stuff to an mp3. I haven't listened to it yet, but I'm sure yours is an improvement

Your comment made me want to have a go.
Glad you did. I like it. I can only echo the comments others have made- timing is good, there's some interesting melodic and rhythmic ideas, and everything's in tune.
I wasn't crazy about the guitar sound, but if you get the bug for this sort of thing you'll get much better results from a dedicated recording device, which needn't break the bank either.
I hope these forum jams encourage *everyone* to pick up a guitar and have a bash, whether they can record the results (or bear to let anyone else hear it) or not. I don't think anyone's contributions to any of the jams so far have been beyond the reach of a solid "intermediate" guitarist (although Bob Gnarly's rock jam solo was pretty hairy...), so anyone's best effort should be in good company, and hopefully there will be a few nice licks for people to steal too
Who's up for masterminding the next one?

Yeah, I don't like it much either; I thought it was just my ears. The tone sounds OK coming out of the amp but the sound coming out of the speaker-emulated line out - which also bypasses the spring reverb - turned out to be rather different.
As I explained in a previous post, the line out level is controlled by the amp's main volume knob; in order to get a decent recording level, I'd have had to turn it up too high for my own comfort. I got a hotter signal using the sound card's mic input but I remain convinced that micing up the amp is the best way to do this.
I think I need to experiment with various tones too.
Thanks to all for your comments and encouragement.
