english_bob english_bob Unregistered	Yeah, the US trade restrictions did european guitar makers a lot of favours. Everyone wanted guitars, nobody could get the ones they really wanted (Fender, Gibson, Gretsch, Rickenbacker...), so they bought the closest thing, which was usually something like the guitars you're talking about. I don't think they're very fondly remembered by the people that played them way back when, and I don't think many survived long enough to see the birth of the "vintage" guitar market proper, which probably makes them very collectable, if not necessarily playable.
