Yeah it's cool .. like the bassist in my first band saying, when we finally got something that worked .. "--ooops naughty word-- hell, you could *listen* to that!!".

You may be right. I'll have a listen. Sonar LE isn't great for this; I should have used Cubase.

OK, guys. I've redone the whole thing. This time, I used a free drum loop from the web - complete with a simple fill - to which I added a cymbal, a simple bass line and Hammond organ chords from my sampler. I moved The Tiggs' performance to the beginning as it is quiter than the rest. I'm rubbish at mixing and I hope I didn't overcompress the overall mix. Anyway, you'll find it here.

Glad you like the track. I have heard it dozens and dozens of times but don't tire of it! So it goes like this:
0:02 The Tiggs 0:47 Old Swanner 1:32 me 2:17 Bob Gnarly 3:03 Skyline 3:48 Not the DJ 4:34 Stickyfiddle

Sounds really good Giles. It biulds nicely to the quick stuff and ends well with Sticky's double stops.

Thanks, I see what you mean. As I said before, your performance was drowned in the original backing track so I moved it to the beginning with electric piano chords instead of a swirly organ. Apart from that, I basically added the various contributions in the order I received them so the build-up is purely coincidental! I burned the file to an audio CD the other day and although the mix is a little too bassy for my taste, the track is quite pleasant to listen to nevertheless. I have a soft spot for Skyline and Stickyfiddle's performances, I must admit.

Excellent work, Gilles. Those drums sound perfect. Thanks for all the hard work.
