Try Knockin' on heavens door. Covered by numerous artistes (I think I spelled that wrong, never mind) i.e. Clapton, Avril lavine, Guns n' Roses etc, etc.
G,..D,..Am, (hold) // G,..D,..C,(hold)// and repeat until bored to death.
Try humming the melody while playing the chords and it will come together....Don't give up...

Hi James! Welcome to us both! I'm also a newbie here. Aside from playing the guitar. One of my hobbies is playing golf. I have played electric guitar in my band but we got disbanded last year so I kind of channeled my energies to other sports. Now, I guess I'm ready to be back!
