That looks fantastic. It's not my thing aesthetically- I'd always go 2 pickups and a black guard- but it's obviously a great bit of work.

Can't wait to get mine going sooon!!!!

Thanks Sticky! I guess I did put a lot of effort into the build, so it's nice that you can appreciate that. On the aesthetics, we can't all like the same things, but it is fun trying to come up with the perfect look anyway. If you're planning a tele build, please do put some posts up here to show us all what you're up to.

I will do- mine will be a Cabronita with TV Jones pickups. I have a friend doing the woodwork, I'm hoping to have some news soon..

Maybe... I just ordered a bottle for my next build after reading this thread.

Don't think you'll regret that Bry, it is good stuff, and easy to use also. Obviously it's not as tough a finish as a modern poly, but so much nicer IMO. Also it is a bit time-consuming to do though - no point being in a hurry with this stuff. And Jocko is right about putting it on in very thin layers - adds to the time, but worth it for the results.

Tru-oil definitely worth a punt.

Just to bring this thread back from the dead! but I did take some decent pics of my telecaster a few weeks ago when we had some nice autumn weather. These (or some of them) should appear on http://www.guitarbuild.co.uk in the gallery section at some point before too long, but what the heck, I thought I'd put them up here as well, for your viewing pleasure (I hope ):

You might as well have the lot! last few:

That's it, honest! Really I am a bit pleased with this guitar - it is the one I automatically tend to pick up to play at home, which says a lot. Hope my strat comes out as well!
