It will work, as in you will get a sound. What are you going to put through them? If it just your guitar then of course you can. If it is going to be a band mix from the desk than it will have a strange sound because guitar amps do not have a flat EQ. Which amps (model and wattage) do you have? How big and loud is the rest of the band and PA? What size audiences will this be used in front of?

Can I suggest that if you're just putting your guitar through this set-up then a mixer is probably unnecessary. Do you have an fx processor up front or are you going to just plug the guitar into two amps (a la Hendrix)? If you're using an fx unit then it will almost certainly have left and right outputs, in which case you can plug one into each amp. A mate of mine does this with a Boss ME50 and a pair of identical Hughes & Ketners

Given what you've said I can't understand why you'd want to do it to be honest?

I'm all for spending money on stuff that I don't really need but, and this is only my opinion of course, there are better things than mixers and monitors if it's only for home use.

Well, if you're using digital fx then having separation between the two channels will mean you get the full effect of the stereo fx, so I can see the appeal of that.

The only other reason for using multiple amps would be to make it louder, so you may as well buy a bigger amp instead of two smaller ones.

Agreed eski - its impossible to answer the question without knowing what the OP is trying to do here.

As far as I can gather, the plan is to run a mixer into two guitar amps, instead of studio monitors?

I'm assuming you want to use these guitar amps because you already have them and wont have to spend money on studio monitors?

If thats the case, it'll sound pretty bad for most things. It depends on what your trying to mix and what you're trying to achieve.

Steve.

Just plug this into the Zoom and into each amplifier. No mixer needed.
