I'm trying to find someone who can record this Vox documentary:
Vox Pop: How Dartford Powered the British Beat Boom" - is a BBC documentary going out next Tuesday (29th November 2011) at 22:35 on BBC 1 South East. If your default region isn't the South East it will be available on Sky digital channel 983 and then BBC iPlayer for the next week - so folks in other areas should be able to see this on iPlayer.
Since I live in Holand, I've got no means to see or record this programme.
If you want to help, please record the program on DVD at the highest possible quality setting (important). Try to use a digital source with scart RGB or HDMI connection to improve quality even more. Maybe you even know how to get it recorded professionally on a digital device with accessable files. That would be even better!
There are many people over at the gretschpages.com forum who'd love to see this documentary too.
Just as long as I know someone recorded it, I can always find a technique to get it overhere so I can edit it.
Hope you guys chime in!

" that vox is now made in China" I believe that manufacturing was moved there in 2005. I guess on the plus side the cost savings in them doing that means that we are able to get Vox tube gear at an affordable cost. At least too they make tube amps still and not the awful solid state amps from the 70s that hepled them fall from favour.
You have a very good point there. In some countries it is the manufacturing price that keeps sales inn. Graham

It would appear that Vox as we 'misty eyed' reflect is now just a brand name. How much would a hand wired original made in Dartford now cost and what would they have to do to ensure quality and afforabillity at the same time? Even if that were posible would it still be a market leader. I think not as both Marshall and Laney are still 'British' in one form or another and Marshall for good or ill, is still the go to amp for most gigging guitarists. Well that is how it is perceived in many peoples view, including sadly, the guitar based glossy mags.
