I own a few Guitars, but find myself using my cheapo Yamaha Pacifica 112 the most.
I'm a wee man, 5'6", and the Pacifica's always felt really compact and hence effortless to play compared to, for example, my Mex Telecaster. It's also got a really skinny neck, great for Pete Townshend-style, thumb-on-the-E-string power chords!
I always assumed the Pacifica was short-scale, but I was surprised to discover it's actually a Fender-ish 25.5" scale (although it actually measures up slightly short).
I'd like to trade up to something a bit more classy (never liked the anorexic-strat look of the Pacifica) but keeping the same 'compact' feel.
The most obvious choice seemed to be a Strat, but I've recently bought an old Squier Silver Series Strat which feels bigger in my hands (as well as having a much fatter D-profile neck, which might see it going back on Ebay). Shame, cause it's such a great guitar otherwise.
I also found my mate's Epi SG pretty nice to play and bought a Gibson SG Special for a good price on Ebay, but ended up selling it straight away as it had a huge wide fretboard.
Guitars I've been thinking about trying (no more Ebay, I've bought and sold 4 Guitars in the last 6 months!) *Fender Mustang *Another strat with a slimmer neck *Another SG with a slimmer neck *A Gordon-Smith as a cheaper Les Paul Junior substitute
Let me know your thoughts!

You might just like one of the Ibanez S series range - I think these generally have a very slim neck.
Maybe something like this: Ibanez SA260
But just a thought, hope you can find something you like.

Thanks for that. It looks smart, but quite a slick, modern rock look. I was thinking of something a bit more classic/retro. I'm a singer who plays some mainly rhythm guitar, not a super-fast shredder: think more Joe Strummer than Joe Satriani!

I bought a 3/4 size Spanish guitar for my niece a few years ago and I really enjoyed playing it for the week or so I had it before I gave it to her ,so much in fact that I've seriously considered buying a 3/4 sized electric guitar. I'm 5'8'' so not exactly a giant and I just found it so much easier to wrap my hands around the neck and move and hit all those notes that were so much closer etc.

Rather than hunt around, go to a guitar shop and try a few.

I have a Crafter Constantine, which is like a small bodied Les Paul. I brought it last year second hand, and have been very happy with it. Yamaha used to do a tele-shaped Pacifica range, starting at entry-level and going up to the Mike Stern signature model.
