The O-Port is an amazing little invention that genuinely improves the tone of any guitar.  I see this ideally positioned for people who have a cheaper guitar, want to better the tone but don’t want to spend a fortune on upgrading their guitar.

Once you have found the strings or guitar accesory you require, you make a note of the product code and then proceed to order it from my D’addario or Planet waves catalogue online which can be found here.

The idea behind this is to enable my local customers to browse my catalogue of accessories from home, place an order from home, knowing that when they drive past they can simply pull in to my parking area and collect the guitar accessories which will be waiting for them!

For online customers, delivery is free but in order to avoid posting single strings I have a minimum order value of £15.  Guitar accessories are dispatched every Friday for a Saturday delivery.

From my tutoring I began selling guitars to beginners and that was the start of me and my World of guitar Retail  some 15 years ago.

Since moving to Stratford Upon Avon I have managed to regain an hour of my day – every day (no travelling to Leamington) as I live just down the road yet I have found myself repeatedly excusing why I no longer “have time” to teach.  Now I am in Stratford I feel like the excuse is possibly no longer valid so hence this re-introduction of of my tution services, all be it on a limited scale.

I have a very firm view of where I believe my value lies – and it is not in offering lessons to an individual week in week out for eternity with no end goal in sight.

I see my role as someone who tackles specific problems whether it be of a technical nature or theoretical.

My lessons are focused, consise and will enable you to “get over” whatever barrier was in your way prior to the lesson.

My lessons would not be a replacement to but a consolidation of whatever method you may already be using (online resources, private tuition, books/dvds etc) where I can fill in the missing blanks so to speak.

I can help you understand more about what you are playing in order for you to have the understanding to develop your own direction in the future.

In principal I am happy to teach anyone of any age and any skill level but of course will point you in the right direction if I feel I am not the right person for you.

Lessons are 30 minutes in length – long enough for me to put across an important musical “aspect” and to ensure you have understood it – so you can go away and practice it!

Lessons fit around my shop hours so between 8am & 10am, 1pm & 2pm or 5.30pm to 6.30pm are all fine with me.

A lesson is £20 which includes being on hand following the lesson via my live help if you need a helping hand and what I teach you in 30 minutes will be a building block to benefit from forever.

After grabbing a host of awards, including the top three slot in Kerrang magazine’s Best of 08 awards and winning the Best Newcomer 09 in Rock Sound magazine, My Passion has also seen albums charting, constant touring and the launch of a merchandising brand, My Passion Fashion, taking the band to a new level.

Make up one of the UK’s hardest working bands on the circuit, building up a massive fan base from constant touring and a host of summer festivals during 2009, including T In The Park and the Liverpool Sound City event.

Little wonder then that Cort, the world’s biggest manufacture of guitars, offered the band an endorsement deal. “We recognised the talent within this band straight away and are more than happy to see them perform with Cort guitars,” said director of Cort’s HC Distribution, Ian Collins.

“We are in the process of writing our second album and all the guitar parts are being written on various Cort models, including the T34 bass and EVL Z4 and Z44 solid-bodied six string electric guitars,” said My Passion’s John Be (pictured).

“The tone from the high output, active EMG HH and HZ pickups is perfect for the sound we are trying to create. When making a bone shattering riff, nothing else comes close.

“The Z44 is probably the favourite of my Cort collection, the way the neck sits in your hand puts you at ease from the first time you pick one up. It helps the flow of a riff better than any guitar I have played in a long time. I’ve played Cort guitars for at least 300 shows and I’ve never had a problem, so of course, I’m going to be wielding them as my axes on the forthcoming Kerrang tour.”

With the diary stuffed with promotion, tour dates and new albums, My Passion is on track to become one of the biggest UK bands in 2010.

Up until now I have utlised an SSL encryption at the checkout stage but it seems that people are put off because the site itself does not have the SSL nor do the initial stages of the checkout – so that is something for me to sort out.

I am also setting up parameters so that each item can be searched for by price range and type of instrument (like acoustic, electric, bass, left handed etc.).  These searches will be available at the top of every page in the catalogue for your convenience.

This should make it easier to hoan in on specific guitars that suit your budget and general preference.

2010 is all about doing what I do, better.  Not expanding, not taking over the World but improving your experience and my status as a specialist in the products I believe in.
